In an always exciting game of who will collaborate next, Alicia Keys has trumped much competition with a ‘reggae revived’ remix of her latest single, Underdog, featuring In.Digg.Nation boss Protoje and Zinc Fence Redemption leader, Chronixx.
Underdog (Remix) hit the music market today, with all three artistes posting clips from their studio sessions in Los Angeles, California, last month. In the clip, Alicia can be seen warmly greeting Chronixx, with the admittance that it’s a moment she’s been waiting for.
“It’s dope to be on a track with Alicia Keys. She’s a legend. I grew up listening to her music. It was crazy,” Protoje told The Gleaner.
He divulged that he got the call to join Alicia on the track, while in his own studio in Jamaica. “[One] Thursday night, me and Chronixx in a session and me get a call seh if me can jump pon a plane [at] 6 a.m. Mi just left studio, go pon a plane, reach a LA, do the song and fly come back home in like, three days. It was crazy,” he described.
In his post, Protoje assures his fans that this is just a preview of the new music to come this year. And they should rest assured indeed. Last night, Protoje was spotted in a studio session with dancehall star Popcaan via Instagram Live.
The Underdog (Remix) music was composed by producers P2J and Izy Beats.
