Jamaican reggae singer, rapper, and guitarist Koffee has signed with CAA for representation in North & South America.
The company has worked with a number of big names in the music and entertainment industry, including Kanye West, Beyonce, Lil Wayne, Ariana Grande and Mariah Carey.
The 19-year-old performer’s signing with a major agency follows the release in March of her debut EP, “Rapture” which has since been streamed more than 20 million times on Spotify. Those streaming numbers were surely bolstered by her single “Toast” which was featured in the film “US” with the music video streamed more than 27 million times on YouTube.
Koffee is gearing up for a tour of North America and Europe this summer and is scheduled to appear at the Austin City Limits Festival in October.
She will continue to be managed by Tammi Chang and Pierre Bost. Her label is RCA in the U.S. and Columbia Records in the UK.
News of Koffee’s new deal comes after Bajan pop star Rihanna confirmed that the “Toast” singer, real name Mikayla Simpson, is one of the writers for her upcoming ‘R9’ album.
