Tiffany Haddish is one that learns from the past. In addition to bringing her high fashion to the 2019 Met Gala, the “Girls Trip” actress revealed that she had something she’s sure she would desperately need at the Fashion’s Biggest Night–a chicken.
“There’s not enough food!” Tiffany told E! News while gracing the red carpet in a sparkling Michael Kors flared-leg pantsuit along with a matching hat designed by Stephen Jones. “I brought chicken in my purse,” she added, before opening up her beautiful silver sequined clutch.
If you think she was just joking, you are never more wrong. The comedienne really brought a zipped baggie of emergency fried chicken with her. “Last year I came…it was not enough food,” she went on saying. “I was hungry, and when I’m hungry my attitude is not good. So I said, ‘I’m gonna be prepared this year.’ “
She continued saying that she made herself the chicken. “So I brought chicken…No I didn’t go to KFC. We don’t worry about it. See, Tiffany knows how to cook. I don’t know if you know this but I have my own seasoning salt,” she shared.
People found her action “relatable” as one social media user wrote, “Tiffany Haddish came to the Met Gala with chicken in her bag because there wasn’t enough food there… if that’s not the most relatable, me thing I don’t know what is. She wins.” Another user added, “I love Tiffany Haddish even more becayse she has a stash of chicken in her bag. Whatta boss! [sic].”
Her emergency chicken aside, Tiffany was one to steal attention at the Monday, May 6 event, which theme was “Camp: Notes on Fashion”. She matched her sequin ensemble with a matching, glittery fedora complete with a feather. It was reported that her outfit featured a grand total of 57,000 sequins–17,000 on the jacket and 40,000 on the pants.
