Amy Winehouse's Ex-Husband Placed on Life Support: Report

The ex-husband of Amy Winehouse is on life support in a U.K. hospital after suffering multiple organ failure following his apparent ingestion of drinks and drugs, says a British newspaper report.

Blake Fielder-Civil, 30, was rushed to the hospital in Dewsbury, West Yorks, on Thursday after he was found choking in bed after drinking, according to the U.K. Sun, which also reports that his partner, Sarah Aspin, thinks he may have taken an illicit substance.

"The doctors say they don't know the prognosis," Aspin, who is the mother of Fielder-Civil's 15-month-son, told the Sun. "They said they put him in a coma to help him and due to infection."

She added: "I'm praying he'll survive, but I'm having to prepare myself that he may never wake up."

His situation comes nearly 13 months after the death of Winehouse, 27, who after her own struggles with addiction, succumbed to the "unintended consequence" of drinking too much alcohol, the coroner determined.

Amy's father – and Blake's former father-in-law (from 2007-09) – Mitch Winehouse took to Twitter in response to the "terrible news" about his ex-son-in-law.

"Remember Amy loved him," posted Mitch Winehouse. "Let's pray for his recovery."
